As you know, I recently pumped out nine quilts for Christmas in order to give one to each of my nieces and nephews. This is detailing quilt one of nine. For the info about all nine, check out my last blog post by clicking here. For more details on the other eight – stay tuned!
Going into each quilt in a bit more detail, I thought I better start at the top with the biggest of the kidlets, Miss T. Not long in high school, I wanted something that was still a bit fun, but being the eldest of the cousins, I wanted something a little bit more mature.
The fabric in the centre panel is Retro Orchard produced by Dashwood Studio, and I used the Triangle Pop pattern by Emily Dennis from Quilty Love. You can get the pattern from her website, but I found it in Issue 38 of Love Patchwork and Quilting Magazine – it’s a favourite!
The border fabrics are yellow with white dot from Simply Colorful by V and Co., and (I think) the strawberry solid from Flying Colors by MoMo; both for Moda. I quilted this one with an apples design, to reflect the fruit in the fabric, and keep up the fun, retro theme.
I bound it with the same yellow dots, and backed it with a burgandy suede flannel. Super fluffy!
Miss T seemed pretty happy with the results!
So there you have it!
One down, eight to go 😉
